Forum smilies are used in conjunction with forums to insert "exotic" smilies or emoticons into forum posts. Some of the exotic smilies have an adult theme, so they may not be suitable for inclusion on all websites.

In forum message posts, text strings such as :) and :( are automatically replaced with small corresponding images known as smilies or emoticons. A list of standard smilies can be found here. A list of exotic smilies that can be used is shown below.

When in administration mode, click the Edit hyperlink above a forum smilies element to update it. Only the two fields that are common to all element types can be updated: Element Title and Display Title.

Finally, when you have finished updating a forum smilies element, click the OK button to return to the previous page. You should not use your browser's back button.
