Control Panel

All changes you make to your website are driven through the control panel. From the control panel, you can switch in and out of administration mode and commit or lose any changes you make.

The control panel appears at the top of every web page and drives the updating of your website. It is only visible to users who are logged on to your website with administrator rights. By default, two items appear in the control panel: a button marked Activate Admin and a number indicating the number of hits that the active (i.e. the current) web page has received. It should be noted that when an administrator is logged on and viewing your website, web page hit counts are not incremented. Web page hit counts are only incremented when a normal user is viewing your website.

In the middle of the control panel, several hyperlinks may be visible for creating, updating, moving or deleting web pages. Also, if updates are pending, then two further buttons are visible. These buttons are labelled Commit Changes and Lose Changes. Click the Commit Changes button to make your pending changes live or click the Lose Changes button to throw away your pending changes.

Finally at the very right hand side of the control panel is a link to your website's site map, which can be used to navigate directly to a particular web page.
