To start updating your website, click the Activate Admin button in the control panel. The control panel and active web page below will switch into administration mode. The control panel button that was previously labelled Activate Admin is now labelled Deactivate Admin and can be used to switch out of administration mode.
In administration mode, several hyperlinks may be visible in the control panel for creating, updating, moving and deleting web pages. Also, in the active web page below the control panel, a number of additional hyperlinks may be visible for administering web page zones and elements.

The diagram below shows the active web page in administration mode. Five zones are visible: header, title, main, right and footer. Elements are identified by blue dotted lines.
To the right hand side of the header, title, right and footer zone titles, is an Override hyperlink. This hyperlink indicates that elements found in these zones are inherited from a web page further up the web page hiearchy (i.e. from the folder Blog or, more likely, from the root homepage). To the right hand side of the main zone title, is an Add hyperlink. This hyperlink indicates that main zone content is not inherited.
In general, when a new web page is created, ancilliary zones (all zones except main) are populated automatically through inheritance. The task of creating a new web page is therefore normally reduced to supplying content for the main zone.

To the right hand side of element titles are hyperlinks for administering elements. In the main zone, the hyperlinks Edit, Tag and Delete are shown as well as Down and Up. For all other zones where content is inherited, only the Tag and Edit hyperlinks are available.
